It’s here! The Musically Cogitating Bookclub is here! I am so incredibly excited that this is actually happening. Having a podcast about books and music has been a long dream of mine. I’m excited that this book club will be the space to talk about how lots of different types of books and those texts, music-specific or not, can have a profound impact on our musical lives. Each of the book club podcast episodes will have a co-host.
The first book club episode will feature The Revolution Will Not Be Funded: Beyond the Non-Profit Industrial Complex by INCITE. This book is a collection of essays that was curated by INCITE. It has 2 editions and we cover the second edition of the book. We will cover part one of the three parts in this initial episode. This is an incredible book and I have learned so much about the non-profit industrial complex and I’m excited to hear what you think.
Each book club episode will be published alongside a blog post which will include our book notes. These notes will be part review, overview, and outline of the books. Bookclub episodes will be released once every quarter and will be announced prior to the episode publishing so that you can read along if you’d like.
The first episode will be out on January 13th which is the first episode of 2021 so we will be starting the year off with a bang!
If you have a book that you'd like for us to do as part of the book club or if you'd like to co-host, send me an email or DM and we can set something up.
